Summer 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona

I did a summer internship in Phoenix, AZ and it was super fun seeing the area and learning new things. Here are some highlights :D

Slide 1
The Very Large Array is a radio satellite obseratory located west of Socorro, NM, that I have wanted to visit since I was like 8 years old.It was a 5.5 hr drive there from Phoenix and it was worth every bit. You could watch the satellites calibrate every couple minutes.
Slide 2
The building where I worked this summer- the campus was really pretty and I was excited to be in this building because it hosted most of the solid state electronics research
Slide 3
A canyon I drove through coming back from the VLA. There was a smashed car at the bottom
Slide 4
A saguaro cactus with a mutation from the Phoenix Botanical Garden. There r some birds living in the cactus.
Slide 5
I unknowingly drove by this weird area coming back from NM. It was very flat with no vegetation except for yellow grass, with these strange, almost perfect looking hills every once and a while. I watched a youtube video later that week about a unusual volcano field in northern Arizona and realized I had driven right through it!
Slide 6
Copped this unique natural opal ring from an antique store in Tempe
Slide 7
Stopped by THE Bikini Beans where Nautica was confronted and later committed suicide to pay respects.
Slide 8
A cool dam located in the mountains of AZ. The water was a really lovely turquoise blue.
Slide 8
Went crawfishing at a creek in the mountains with a fellow intern and caught 60 crawfish! I also saw wild horses and a wild bull in the area. It was a super peaceful and lovely day.
Slide 8
Pretty river running through Six Shooter Canyon. There were some interesting rock formations at the bottom.

Just a cute cactus dove from the botanical garden
